Maison Les Remparts
At the heart of a landscape of vineyards and hills, near to Saint Emilion, the picturesque medieval village of Gensac, with its cobbled streets, shops and restaurants, is one of the highlights of architectural Libourne. It sits perched on the edge of the Durèze valley and a few hundred metres to the south of the Dordogne river in the ancien Le Bourg area.
Maison Les Remparts is one of the focal points of this charming and thriving village. There has been a restaurant here since the early 1960s – Les Remparts – overlooking the Durèze valley and the magnificent views were frequently referenced in customer reviews on Trip Advisor and other travel sites.
Having changed hands in 2016, this extended Maison de Maitre is now being completely renovated to benefit from a private swimming pool, intimate courtyard and west facing terrace. It will provide spacious and luxurious holiday accommodation for at least ten people and will be especially popular with family groups and wedding parties.
The beauty of Les Remparts
Les Remparts dates back in places to the middle ages and occupies a wonderful position within Le Bourg, the oldest part of the village, and the village centre. The best way of illustrating this is from the sky!
