Local Markets

On Monday, there is a totally unspoilt market in nearby Castillon. Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, there is a bigger market in Libourne and another on Saturday in St. Foy la Grande.

Santiago de Compostella

The Chemin de St Jacques de Compostelle passes nearby. There are also many other opportunities for good walks nearby.

Shopping in Bordeaux

The city of Bordeaux was the European destination of the year in 2015 and is a UNESCO World Hertiage site. Steeped in culture with a beautiful river promenade and ancient shopping streets it makes for an excellent day out!

Swimming & Inland Lakes

Around 5 miles away there is an inland lake called Lac de la Cadie which has a beach and watersports. A little further away, there is another excellent inland beach at Blasimon.

Enjoy the Grand Theatre

There are many beautiful villages within a short drive. Castelmoron d’Albret is 10 miles away and claims to be the smallest village in France! The picture shows it’s pottery shop.

St Emilion

Saint-Émilion’s history goes back to prehistoric times and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with fascinating Romanesque churches and ruins stretching all along steep and narrow streets. The Romans planted vineyards in what was to become Saint-Émilion as early as the 2nd century. Other places on the UNESCO heritage list within driving distance include Bordeaux and Sarlat.
